They can automatically compensate for uneven floors up to 2 inches without loss of tire traction. Our external drive unit also has a total depth of 16 ¼ inches, 6 inches of which are integrated within the door structure. Therefore, the system only extends 10 ¼ inches beyond the inside face of a 6 inch thick door. Most of the drive unit is only 6 ¾ inches beyond the door surface, a small bearing assembly makes up the rest of the overall dimension, giving a clean and integrated look, not the appearance of an afterthought. Along with this, if there is a loss of power, all of our drive units incorporate a simple and easy one lever manual operation.
